2012 Lexus LFA

There are some things that I simply don’t understand about the automotive world. Lexus, who is set to release only 500 of the new 2012 LFA, has already sold out and or leased these vehicles to perspective owners. The flippin’ car isn’t even on the road yet. I mean I know that this thing is supposed to be an amazing car, but is it really that much more amazing than say a Ferrari 458, a Lamborghini Mercialago or even a Nissan GT-R. Combine that with the fact that the car is $375,000 and it truly does make me scratch my head. Automakers like the aforementioned Ferrari and Lamborghini have a long history of making some of the most beautiful and best performing super cars in the world, but Lexus? I simply don’t know and am totally perplexed by all the hoopla surrounding this car.

2012 Lexus LFA

The 2012 Lexus LFA is a technological masterpiece, there is no doubt about that. It’s fast, handles great, has 2 million computers and looks good, but like the Nissan GT-R the car lacks the main ingredient that makes a super car, a super car – it lacks soul. Take a look at this video and tell me if you don’t agree.

The other thing about the Lexus LFA is that at least in the United States anyway, they are only available for lease due to price fixing regulations. WTF is this all about? The LFA is an amazing car but for people to plunk down $375,000 for an automobile that stems from a company with no history of making super cars, well, that is simply beyond me.
